During the last week of 2015, the Midwest, including the State of Illinois, received dramatic amounts of rain. This resulted in fast and unusual winter flooding in many parts of the state with the severest hit in southern Illinois. IL-IMT was put on standby that week and on January 1, 2016, IEMA assigned the team to report to the Command Post in Olive Branch. Team members deployed at all hours of the very early morning from all over the state. We reported to the MABAS Reception Center that was stationed in front of the Anna Fire Department.
