On February 20th thru the 21st the Illinois National Guard CERFP* units conducted a Full Scale Exercise in the City of Macomb.  Officials from the Illinois National Guard met with city staff and invited various departments from within the city to participate in the exercise.  During this initial planning meeting the Mayor of Macomb invited the Illinois Incident Management Team to participate in the exercise.  The goal of the invitation with the Illinois IMT was to demonstrate the capability of the Illinois IMT to work with the City of Macomb’s Emergency Operations Center during a disaster.  The Illinois IMT accomplished writing an Incident Action Plan; conducted an Operations Briefing and completed a transition plan for the City of Macomb.  Another accomplishment was the Illinois IMT working with Illinois National Guard CERFP and demonstrating our capabilities.  Sixteen members of the Illinois IMT participated in the exercise with at least three or four members either starting a Task Book or were able to work on the Task Book.
